<div>Beginning this year, the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) began accepting requests for accommodations online. Piloted county –wide, this new SSD Online system efficiently streamlines requests, provides management tools, and eliminates
the need for paper forms-- understandably, very popular.</div>

<div>SSD Online provides the following key capabilities: </div>

<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>a. See all requests in one place</b></div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>b. Simply submit requests online </b></div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>c. Check on the status of past and new requests</b></div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>d. Detect and correct errors to dramatically reduce the likelihood of submission errors</b></div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>e. Notify about needed documentation</b></div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; "><b>f. Print out rosters at any time. </b></div>
<div><font face="Times New Roman, serif" size="2"> </font></div>
<div>The College Board is prepared to offer a high level of support, including webinars for school-site staff who will be responsible for requesting accommodations.</div>

<div>SSD coordinators at all schools were sent access codes to enable them to log into the system. They must first have a College Board account. Access codes can be obtained by calling the SSD Program at 800-257-5123. </div>

<div>The process follows this course:</div>

<li><b>SSD coordinator obtains collegeboard.com account and online access to the system.</b></li><li><b>Log onto SSD Online to begin the process.</b></li><li><b>Print out a parental consent form, have the parent sign it</b><b>, file it at school. </b></li><li><b>Complete questions online regarding the student’s disability, requested accommodations, and available documentation.</b></li><li><b>Submit request electronically.</b></li><li><b>The system will inform if documentation is required.</b></li><li><b>When required additional documentation can be mailed or faxed in. </b></li><li><b>Receive e-mail notification that decision has been made; log in to view decision letter.</b></li><li><b>Log in at any time to see status of students’ request or to print a roster.</b></li></ol>
