<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">To conserve resources and cover all applicable information, the Procedural Safeguards booklets for students (K-18) and (18-21) have been combined into one publication. Also,
this year, the shipment procedures for Procedural Safeguards are different from last year, as the Department of Education looks at new ways of conserving resources and working more efficiently with our District partners.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">In 2012-2013, ODE paid for production of 519,000 booklets, although Oregon only has approximately 85,400 students, ages birth-21 years of age who receive special education
services. We believe that basing the shipment quantity on specific district/program data will be a better use of resources for both ODE and its partners, and we appreciate your support of these changes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
