<p class="MsoNormal">Shortly after our call, we received some great news about the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act, which extends federal funding through 2024 and covers some costs associated with National DPP and other self-management programs.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" align="center" style="text-align:center;line-height:150%"><strong><u><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif;color:#757575">Reauthorization of the Older Americans Act</span></u></strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif;color:#757575"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#757575">Wednesday morning, the House Education and Labor Committee approved the passage of H.R. 4334, the Dignity in Aging Act, which reauthorizes the Older Americans Act (OAA) for five years, through 2024. The bill
passed unanimously, pulling support from both sides of the aisle in strong recognition of the importance of the OAA to older adults and caregivers. The bill makes it clear that Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) can engage, outside of the OAA, in private pay, integrated
care and other arrangements to expand services.<br>
<br>
The bill, which includes most of the <a href="https://aginganddisabilitybusinessinstitute.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8e5a58f0539f4d7433f4faafc&id=39cbaac52f&e=5c11b58ae1" target="_blank">
<span style="color:#007C89">reauthorization priorities put forward by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a)</span></a>, has earned n4a’s endorsement. Included in the bill is language that clarifies the role the Aging Network can play in working
with health care. This bill also codifies the Assistant Secretary on Aging’s role in supporting the development of business acumen within the Aging Network. Two, the bill adds “addressing the social determinants of health” to the purposes of Title III’s core
services, which reinforces the Aging Network’s role in this space. You can read more about n4a’s take on the bill in its
