[ODF Smoke Management Instructions]

Friday, March 19th is a furlough day for all state offices.  In addition, the smoke management office is not staffed Saturday the 20th or Sunday the 21st.

Thus if you have weather related questions regarding burning planned for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday you will need to discuss those questions with the smoke management forecaster today.    We will provide our best estimate as to weather conditions for the three day period.  But, as you know, weather conditions can change and the confidence level of weather forecasts diminishes with time.

The burden is on land owners to ensure smoke does not intrude on populated areas, and unfortunately we will not be able to provide meteorological help or assistance Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  Please closely monitor National Weather Service forecasts for the weekend and verify wind conditions prior to any burning.
