east of the state by a strengthening southwesterly flow aloft. A surface
thermal trough will begin the day near the Cascades and progress eastward, into
eastern Oregon, by evening. That will induce onshore flow into the western
most zones late in the day with continued light, mostly southerly, transport
winds across the eastern zones. Temperatures will be well above normal under
sunny skies. High daytime mixing heights will provide good smoke dispersal conditions.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

font-family:"Courier New"'>As a fairly strong upper-level trough slowly
approaches the coastline, southwesterly flow aloft will increase across Oregon
Monday and Tuesday. The surface thermal trough is forecast to shift eastward,
to near the Oregon/Idaho border. Increasing onshore flow will likely bring
several degrees of cooling to the western zones each day, with eastern zones
seeing the cooling by Tuesday. A few showers or thunderstorms may develop over
the eastern mountains late Monday, with a better chance of late-day showers or
thunderstorms on Tuesday. The upper-level trough is forecast to finally move
over Oregon Wednesday. Onshore transport winds and cool air aloft will drop
temperatures to below normal and likely produce at least a few mountain
showers. Smoke dispersal conditions should be good during the outlook period,
although transport winds will be mostly light and somewhat variable, over the
eastern zones, Monday and Tuesday.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
