<div>1. DISCUSSION AND FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST FORECAST AREA ZONES 630-638</div>

<div style="padding-left: 36pt; ">The persistent broad upper level trough that has been over the eastern Pacific and the Pacific Northwest will be reinforced by an upper short wave moving from the WNW across the Pacific Ocean. This supports a weak front that
will move into NW Oregon during the day on Thursday. Moisture should hold off for this area until Friday. Temperatures will be on the order of 3 to 8 degrees below average and smoke dispersal conditions should be good. </div>

<div> OUTLOOK (FRIDAY-SUNDAY)</div>

<div style="padding-left: 36pt; ">Yet another upper short wave drops in to again reinforce the upper trough over the region early Friday. As this short wave moves to the east a cool northwesterly flow pattern aloft will set up. Temperatures will remain cool:
10-15 degrees below average for the time of year. Expect some scattered showers or possible afternoon thunderstorms. By Saturday some minor ridging is evident in the eastern Pacific and this ridge builds to more significant proportions by Sunday. This may
eventually develop into a summertime ridge that finally brings significant warmth to the Pacific Northwest next week. In the meantime expect morning clouds with partial afternoon clearing in the north, afternoon sunshine in the south. The chance for some
scattered mountain showers at least into Saturday. Smoke dispersal conditions Saturday and Sunday will be good. </div>

<div>Transport wind light and variable and controlled by local terrain during the morning. Transport wind increases to WNW to NNW at 6 - 12 mph during the afternoon and increases to NNW to N at 12 - 22 mph during the evening.</div>

<div>Surface wind light and variable and controlled by local terrain during the morning. Surface wind increases to NW to NNW at 8 - 12 mph during the afternoon and evening.</div>

<div>Mixing height 3800 - 4800 ft during the morning. Mixing height rises to above 5000 ft during the afternoon then lowers to 1800 - 2800 ft during the evening.</div>

NNW at 5 - 7 mph during the morning becoming NW to NNW at 8 - 14 mph during the afternoon.</div>

<div style="padding-left: 36pt; ">Avoid ignitions within 10 miles to the WSW through N of SSRAs. For units that will smolder significantly through the night avoid burning within at least 15 miles to the WSW through N in or near drainages leading to SSRAs.

<div style="padding-left: 36pt; ">Zone 633 - 638:</div>
<div style="padding-left: 36pt; ">Avoid ignitions within 10 miles to the WSW through NE of SSRAs. For units that will smolder significantly through the night avoid burning within at least 15 miles to the WSW through NE in or near drainages leading to SSRAs.
Verify transport winds away from SSRAs if burning in any other direction. Watch for shifting transport winds. </div>
