The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention <https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/DISEASESCONDITIONS/COMMUNICABLEDISEASE/HAI/Pages/index.aspx> (ACDP) Section in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Data Visualization Informatician. ACDP is charged with preventing the spread of communicable disease in the State of Oregon through surveillance and epidemiologic studies as well as education and preventive actions. The section serves all Oregonians and works directly with local health departments, private physicians, other health care providers, other Public Health Division staff, and staff members of other state and federal agencies. This position will advise on administrative, policy, and programmatic aspects of agency operations as they pertain to visualization of public health data. You will develop long-range plans, goals, objectives, and milestones for data visualization, analysis, and reporting. You will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing public health data visualizations - including cleaning, processing, analyzing, storing, accessibility, and the accompanying regulations, policies, rules, and procedures associated with these data. You will evaluate options, develop, create, and maintain operational improvement projects and tools, such as dashboards and automated reports and emails, to monitor data quality and laboratory trends over time. The work of this position is to ensure the transparency, availability, and interpretation of public health data.
