LPRO is seeking strong research candidates who are policy generalists. This recruitment is for a Senior Research Analyst who will work collaboratively with the LPRO team to provide high-quality research, including data analysis, data visualizations, and reports to support decision-makers in the legislative branch. Senior Research Analysts work on multidisciplinary teams and independent projects to ensure legislators have the information they need.

A Senior Research Analyst provides

  *   public policy research, analysis, and consultation to policy committees, legislators, and their staff, including preparing objective, non-partisan, analytical studies
  *   appropriate research methodology design and support for legislative staff to gather, compile, and analyze data and information
  *   lead support for multi-disciplinary team research projects during the interim period between legislative sessions

Required Skills

  *   adapt and apply formal research methods and principles to research problems
  *   experience with and understanding of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches to research
  *   gather, compile, and analyze structured and unstructured data
  *   produce thorough and accurate results in short timeframes
  *   strong oral communication skills
  *   strong writing, research, and presentation skills, including synthesizing complex analyses into easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading teams in completing multiple complex projects effectively and on time.
The primary work location for this position is in Salem, Oregon. The work of the Senior Research Analyst is in-person and may allow for a hybrid work schedule, dependent on the time of year. There may be an opportunity for occasional telework depending on work assignments and the needs of the Legislative Assembly.
