</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:12.0pt'><b><span style='font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>The annual conference of the Oregon Association for Talented and Gifted (OATAG) will take place from 8:30 am until 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011 on the beautiful campus of Reed College in Portland.<br></span></b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><br>The conference theme is “</span><span style='font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Assessing and Identifying Gifted Learners.”</span><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> The conference will feature a keynote speech by Dr. David Lohman, Professor of Psychological & Quantitative Foundations, in the College of Education at the University of Iowa.<br><br><b><i>The Identification of Gifted Children: Lessons learned, visions for the future<br><br></i></b>Dr Lohman is one of the country's foremost experts on student assessment and co-authored the Cognitive Abilities Test commonly known as the “CogAT” .
