<p><span>The TAO Annual Meeting is fast approaching and our program is shaping up to be very exciting.   Please join us on October 16^th at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Riverbend Campus in Springfield.</span></p>

<p><b><span>Program</span></b><span> <b></b></span></p>
<p><span>The  morning session “<i>Beyond Reimbursement:  Issues Facing Telemedicine Programs in Oregon” </i>will feature our guest host and discussant , Thelma McClosky Armstrong, Director of Eastern Montana Telemedicine Network and past president of ATA, Greg Billings of the Telehealth Leadership Initiative, Washington DC, and Denny Lordan, Director of the Northwest Regional Telehealth Resource Center.  There is so much at stake for telemedicine programs and the success or failure of the proposed telemedicine legislation included in both the health care reform bills and HR 2068 will have a profound effect on telemedicine programs.  Discuss the issues with these experts and learn how you can play a role in determining the future for your telehealth program.</span></p>

<p><span> </span><span>The annual membership meeting will be held during lunch.   There will be the election of new members to the board and an update on TAO activities including reimbursement.</span></p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p><span>The afternoon session will be dedicated to “Oregon Shares”.  This segment will provide you with information about telemedicine programs in Oregon, and the efforts of TAO partners such as NRTRC and OHN.  Capping this session will be a tour of the Sacred Heart Riverbend Campus.</span></p>

<p><span>Because we hope many of you will arrive in Eugene the night before the meeting and attend the networking dinner, Peace Health has graciously provided us with a list of motels in the area that offer a “Peace Health rate”.  You will find that list attached to this message</span></p>

<p><span>This year TAO is having a networking dinner the night before the meeting.  This dinner will give you an opportunity to talk with many of your telemedicine colleagues, partners, and possibly legislators as well as two of our presenter for the next morning’s program.  TAO will offer appreciation and celebration for those who have played a major role in the ongoing work of SB 24 during the past year.</span></p>

<p><span>Because this dinner is separate from the meeting the next day, there will be an added charge of $25 for all attending the event.  This includes the dinner and two drinks (wine or beer) with your meal.  Please consider joining us for this special night of celebration and networking.  You are welcome to bring a friend, colleague or spouse.  We need to know if you plan to attend by <span style="COLOR: red">October 7^th</span>.  Simply send an email to <a href="mailto:mjbell@wbcable.net" target="_blank">mjbell@wbcable.net</a> .  Payment can be made at the door.</span></p>
