resending this message.  There has been some confusion on which
contractors are available for vehicle rentals.  To clarify, the State
now has contracts available through Enterprise / National Car Rental and
also Hertz Car rental.

Message:  The DAS State Procurement Office has just executed new price
agreements for nationwide vehicle rental services with both Hertz and
Enterprise/National.  These are mandatory use price agreements.  The
Enterprise/National contract is a joint contract between the two
companies. All rates and terms and conditions will be honored at all
locations.  Agencies may choose between using one of the three vehicle
rental brands for rental needs.  It is hoped by having multiple brands
to choose, all vehicle rental needs will be met.  Agencies will need to
look at the contract rates to determine which contract is more
advantageous to the city a traveler is headed to.  Both contracts are
available for review on ORPIN now.   Both Hertz and Enterprise/National
and also Azumano have loaded the new rates on the electronic booking
systems. Azumano's ResX system will be updated to show just the three
brands. 

 

Besides very competitive rates, these contracts feature:

 

$1 Million Liability Protection

Full loss/damage waiver protection

Roadside assistance

Direct billing options

One-Way rentals up to 500 miles at no additional cost

Short term and long term options

Full Selection of vehicles, including hybrids

 

Travelers can choose either contractor who best suits their needs.

 

The existing contracts with Enterprise Rent a Car, numbers 4126 and 8891
will terminate on October 31, 2009.  Enterprise will update all existing
account numbers with the new rates.  Also, any existing vehicle
reservations will still be honored, so there is no need to rebook
vehicles.
