<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">In Missouri, we provide USBs to all of the approximately 417 libraries/branches. I did not give the libraries an option when I switched from paper copies. This fall will be our 3rd year of providing
only USBs. Since I was really straightforward with the libraries about the costs and challenges of shipping the paper manuals, versus the USBs, almost everyone understood and transitioned to this format with no issues.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">We only had one grumbler out of approximately 417 locations. She complained about how she needed to see the manual in print. I told her that I would be happy to print the items on the USB drive for her and
send them out by courier. She said she had her own printer, so she guessed she’d just print what she wanted herself (which was our intention and preference anyway). That was the extent of the drama, which I thought was good, as we tend to hear from the libraries
if they aren’t happy with a change we’ve made. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">We considered moving to online access when multiple formats became an option, but it initially wasn’t clear if every library would have to have their own username and password and how much of a headache it would
be for us to set that up and/or potentially have to police it every time staff rolled over and people lost or forgot their usernames or passwords. It seems like the online access didn’t end up being complicated at all, but since we already switched to USB
(which I believe is the same cost)and people are doing well with that format, I think it’s unlikely we would switch again. Also, in the case of poor internet access or speed, it should be easier for libraries to pull materials off a USB drive than have to
download them. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
