The Department of Health, Office of Immunization and Child Profile, has an
opening for a full-time Health Services Consultant 3, Assessment
Coordinator.  The position is in the Clinical and Quality Assurance section.

*Primary Duties *
*Schools and Childcare Assessment:
*

   - Collaborates with the DOH Information Technology team in the ongoing
   update and maintenance activities of the web-based immunization status
   reporting system for schools, preschools and licensed child care to submit
   their required annual immunization status reports.
   - Provide technical assistance to schools, preschools and childcares to
   ensure timely and accurate reporting of required immunization status reports
   due Nov. 1st of each year as required by CDC.
   - Ensures data is cleaned annually at the end of each school year and is
   made suitable for public use.
   - Provides data analysis and technical consultation for school
   immunization data requests.
   - Prepares school data reports and maps for inclusion on the DOH Office
   of Immunization & Child Profile webpage.

Other Assessment Activities:
*

   - Coordinates immunization assessment activities, including the
   development of population based immunization projects and related CDC
   progress reports.
   - Utilizes Child Profile Immunization Registry data and CoCASA software
   for VFC-enrolled clinic and provider level assessment of immunization rates
   and practices.
   - Develops, reviews, and revises assessment tools.

Quality Assurance*:

   - Performs VFC/AFIX site visits to enrolled providers as assigned to
   monitor quality assurance and compliance.
   - Performs quality assurance visits to local health jurisdictions or
   other contractors to assist in monitoring compliance.
   - Completes progress reports as required by the federal grant.

*
Education & training*:

   - Assists in development of orientation, initial and ongoing training,
   and competency assessment curriculum for site visit reviewers regarding
   assessment.
   - Assist in the review and revision of AFIX and CoCASA training
   materials.
   - Provides consultation, technical assistance and education regarding
   AFIX and CoCASA for DOH staff and local health jurisdictions.

Required Qualifications*

   - A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration,
   Health Care Administration, or a closely allied field; *AND *successful
   completion of one or more college-level course(s) in statistics or
   biostatistics.
   - Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of paid
   professional-level experience conducting community health assessments.
   Professional-level experience is defined as experience at a Health Services

   - One (1) or more years of paid professional-level experience in a
   position where a major job function was conducting statistical analysis.

   - One (1) or more years of paid experience in a position where a major
   job function was collecting, analyzing, and reporting findings of national,
   state, and local public health indicators and measures.
   - Advanced-level experience using spreadsheet software, such as MS Excel.

Desirable Qualifications*

   - Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Health Care
   Administration, or a closely allied field.
   - Experience working with Immunization Programs and federal grant
   programs.
   - Knowledge of the Vaccine for Children Program

Conditions of Employment *

   - Willing and able to work in a cubicle environment with frequent
   distractions and interruptions, with or with an accommodation.
   - Willing and able to work core business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,
   Monday through Friday, with a scheduled lunch break.
   - Willing and able to occasionally work in excess of 40 hours per week to
   meet program needs and critical deadlines.
   - Willing and able to occasionally travel by plane or automobile, state
   and nation-wide, which may include overnight stays, to meet program needs.
   - Willing and able to legally operate a state or privately owned vehicle,
   OR provide alternative transportation.
   - Willing and able to operate standard office equipment such as desktop
   and laptop computers, copy/fax/scanner, projector, video, web and
   teleconference system, etc.
   - Willing and able to transport presentation materials, AV equipment,
   computers and display stands weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without an
   accommodation.
