[Iscn-members] ISCN Garten Tour

Good afternoon:

Per the last ISCN meeting, we have confirmed a tour of the Garten material recovery (recycling) facility on 11/02 at 10:30 am in Salem. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours, and you will get to see how the state's recycling is received, sorted and processed. You will also learn about challenges of recycling and what we can do as agencies to improve our practices - from recycling and salvaging of paper and plastics to computers and other electronics. It's a very eye opening experience.

There are a limited number of spots (10), so let me know if you are interested by close of business Wednesday 10/18. We will book spots on a first come, first served basis, with also a favor toward allowing as many different agencies to attend as possible. With that in mind, please feel free to forward to others in your agency who manage your recycling efforts and/or work with IT and electronics with the plan to send one, maybe two from your agency.

A meeting invite will be sent out on 10/19 with details, including the address and meeting spot.  If there is a greater interest in a tour than spots, I will reach out to Garten to see if we can schedule a 2nd tour.
