The Pilcrow Foundation Rural Public Library Grants
Deadline: March 1, May 1, and October 1, 2016

The Pilcrow Foundation, a national non-profit public charity, provides a 2-to-1 match to rural public libraries that receive a grant through its Children’s Book Project and raise $200-$400 through local sponsors for the purchase of up to $1200 worth (at retail value) of new, quality, hardcover children’s books.

Rural public libraries in the United States that have suffered loss and damage due to recent natural disasters (flooding, fire, hurricanes, etc.) may be eligible for special non-matching grants: Disaster Relief Grant information.

The Penguin Random House Library Awards for Innovation
Deadline: October 1, 2016

The Penguin Random House Library Awards for Innovation recognize public libraries creating innovative community-based programs, which encourage citizens to participate and support local reading initiatives that connect libraries with their community.

All programs must show measurement of successful outcomes, and some of the following:
Partnerships with public schools, local businesses, museums, recreation departments and other community learning resources that support learning and reading programs.
Collaboration with local community on early childhood and pre-kindergarten learning from low-income families.
Engaging young adults in learning through use of digital media, mentors, or local community and civic organizations, including schools.
Awards include $1,000 in Penguin Random House books, as well as one $10,000 grant award (plus ALA Midwinter conference registration and transportation) and four runner-up $1,000 grant awards.

TEI Landmark Audio’s 25th Year Children’s Literacy and Programming Grant
Deadline: November 15, 2016

To celebrate 25 years of "Giving a Voice to Literature," TEI Landmark Audio will award (25) $1,000 grants to support literacy for young people. All libraries are invited to participate in this grant opportunity, whether or not they are current customers. Grant awards will be announced on December 15, 2016.

Applicants must be a public or nonprofit community based organization (ex: library or school). Individual library branches within a larger system are welcome to apply. Funds must be used for children’s programming/children’s literacy programming.
