Hi everyone,

A patron is looking for a book she read to her children in the 1990s. It has black and white illustrations and is about a lonely dog who finds a flyer for a mail order friends service. He receives a platypus and an armadillo in the mail and they play badminton together. Does anyone know the title or author?
