Greetings –
The Oregon State Library, Talking Book and Braille Services (TBABS) is looking for a Public Library representative for the TBABS Advisory Council. If you are interested in this position, please email a short biography to susan.b.westin at state.or.us by November 10, 2008.

Out of all the suggestions made, two people will be nominated for the vacancy. New Council members will be elected at the December 5, 2008 meeting of the Oregon State Library Board of Trustees.

The TBABS Advisory Council is an 11-member body that advises the State Library Board on issues concerning the Talking Book and Braille Services program. Terms on the Council are for four years. Elected people would serve from January 2009 to December 2012. The Council normally meets four times a year in Salem or Portland. Minutes from the Council meetings and information on the Council members can be found at http://www.oregon.gov/OSL/TBABS/advisory.shtml.

If you have an interest in shaping policy, learning about the latest developments in talking books, and contributing your voice as an advocate for the blind, print, physical or reading disabled, please consider this invitation to step forward and be part of the TBABS future. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Westin at 503-378-5435 or susan.b.westin at state.or.us if you have any questions.
