The Scappoose Library District is seeking an energetic library director who can lead the library in this rapidly growing community of 12,000 people. This is a 40 hour per week salaried position.
Job Responsibilities: Work closely with the Scappoose Special District Library Board members. Plan, direct and supervise operations of various library services, including circulation, acquisitions, and children's programs. Formulate policies and procedures of the library. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate the work of the library staff. Develop grant requests and solicit funds for special projects. Compiles library activity reports and statistics. Well developed computer skills and provide basic technical support for personal computers and other library equipment. Prepares budget recommendations; researches, monitors, and controls expenditures. Participate in professional organizations and conferences. Maintain cooperative working relationship with the board, staff, bookkeeper, other organizations and the Friends of the Library. 
Required Qualifications: An ALA-accredited MLS degree and at least four years of professional experience of any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties. A valid CPR/first aid card is necessary. Pass a criminal record check.

Part Time Systems Librarian

This one-year, grant funded position is responsible for the successful migration of OCOM bibliographic data and implementation of the new integrated library system on the Portland health library consortium catalog. This position is also responsible for ensuring quality cataloging and material processing to optimize findability and access. This position may also assist with special projects at the request of the College Librarian.
Requirements: An ALA accredited Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an accredited college or university is required. Previous experience as a systems administrator is highly desirable; and experience with Millenium III System and WorldCat Local preferred. Previous experience cataloging and processing materials is required. Previous experience and/or training in an academic or medical library is highly desirable.
Salary: This is a grant-funded 0.5 FTE position that pays $20/hour and is eligible for benefits. Anticipated start date is February 1, 2010, 12-month duration.

Preferred: Reference and/or access services experience in an academic law library; and supervisory experience. The successful candidate will support and enhance a diverse learning and working environment.
