Integrated Library Systems and Telecommunications Administrator

General Information: The Coastal Resource Sharing Network (CRSN) is a consortium of six public libraries, two community colleges and one library district in Lincoln and Tillamook Counties, sharing a library catalog and circulation system. All libraries are independent. They do not share the same governing body or library management. Member libraries are connected through collaborative intergovernmental agreements. 
General Purpose of the Systems Administrator: The Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, daily operation, maintenance and security of the Consortium's automation and communication systems. These include, but are not limited to: SirsiDynix Symphony/Unicorn ILS, LANS, Web Servers, Internet Access, Telecommunications and other evolving systems. The Systems Administrator also advises the CRSN Governing Board about future hardware and software needs. The Systems Administrator must document procedures, train staff and share Sirsi communications with relevant staff at participating libraries. 
Supervision: The Systems Manager works under the direct supervision of the Tillamook Library Director and is ultimately responsible to the Coastal Resource Sharing Network Board. CRSN uses the Lincoln County Library District's (LCLD) personnel policy.

Applications are currently being accepted for a part-time (up to 19 hour per week) Reference Librarian position within the Community Services Department. The Reference Librarian provides comprehensive reference service to library patrons; responds to service requests of a general nature, across many disciplines and subject areas; provides point of use assistance or instruction for patrons of all ages for electronic and print resources. Scheduled hours of work for this position will involve evenings and weekends.
Duties Include: Assist patrons in locating information; determine need for Inter-library or intra-system loans; keep current with reference tools in the collection and library service area; assist in selection of possible purchases; perform online computer and Internet searches as well as traditional information searches; assist in organizing, processing, maintaining, and selection of periodicals and newspapers; and operate equipment owned by the Library, and conducts tours, library instruction sessions, workshops, attends meetings, writes newspaper articles, and gives speeches as required.
Qualifications: An ALA accredited Master's degree in Library/Information Sciences, plus one (1) year progressively responsible librarian experience. Broad knowledge of the principles, practices and philosophy of public library operations, current methods and principles governing reference services. Experience with a variety of microcomputer applications in a networked environment including bibliographic and full-text databases, multiple CD-ROM products, and Internet resources. Individuals must have good interpersonal communications skills and be able to work cooperatively in a team environment. Ability to fluently read, write and speak English. Also requires physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. 
Salary Rate: $19.15 to $23.28 per hour
