Library Manager

The Library is a Division of the Community Services Department and is organized into two integrated Sections: Public Service and Access Service. The vision of the Community Services Department is to create community through people, facilities, programs, and the natural environment. The Library Manager is responsible for leading the vision of the Library which is to create an inviting community center where learning, discovery, and interaction flourishes, expressing a welcoming civic identity while embracing Tualatin's values and future. The Library Manager will provide daily leadership, management and long-range planning of the Library Division of the Community Services Department. The Manager is responsible for guiding the Library in developing its potential as a focal point for community information, culture, and social interaction, and is also responsible for the supervision of employees in the Public Services and Access Services sections of the Library. The Manager also serves as City staff liaison for the Tualatin Library Advisory Committee, Friends of the Tualatin Public Library and the Tualatin Library Foundation.

Library Technical Services Operator

The Toledo Public Library has a part time opening for a Technical Services Operator. General duties include: copy cataloguing using MARC record processes, placing orders, assisting with program implementation, basic circulation functions using an online circulation system, re-shelving books, and other traditional library tasks as assigned. A positive and upbeat approach to customer service and enthusiasm for library work are key characteristics. Experience and training requirement include High School graduation or equivalent; ability to work courteously and effectively with others; ability to operate computers and various software applications. General knowledge of professional practices, procedures, and techniques of library science is desirable. Knowledge of English grammar and usage, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required. Salary range is $12.04 - $13.96 per hour.
