Application is now open for the 2013-14 year of grants to rural libraries for the National Science Foundation-funded Pushing the Limits project.

Go to the Califa website at http://califa.org/limits.php for a description of the project and an online application.

This four-year project is now in its third year, during which 20 rural libraries are offering public programs featuring reading, viewing and discussion of topics of interest to the general reader. The four programs offered by each rural library have a unique STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) angle assured by the involvement of locally-recruited science partners.

All reports so far from participating libraries are enthusiastically positive! They report surprisingly good attendance, often by people from their local communities who have not previously attended library events.

There is a very good chance that if you are a rural library and you want do a Pushing the Limits project next year, you will get one of these 75 grants of $2500 each.
