Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian

Oregon State University Libraries & Press (OSUL&P) invites applications for the position of Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian, a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are looking for an energetic, forward-thinking colleague interested in developing and implementing programs and initiatives aimed at improving undergraduate student success at the university. Strong interpersonal skills are essential: the successful candidate will be a strong advocate for underserved student populations. Working independently and collaboratively with OSUL&P colleagues, the Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian will work directly with student groups, and will seek out and build relationships with student-centered units and programs across campus, especially those supporting traditionally underserved populations. He or she will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues in the Teaching and Engagement department to support the Libraries' instruction program and to develop innovative new teaching initiatives. This is a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will actively participate in research, contribute to the university's teaching mission, and engage in professional service. Entry-level or early career librarians are encouraged to apply. The salary for this position is set at $50,000 per year, in addition to a generous vacation and benefits package. In this position, you'll be responsible for managing the library's electronic content, which includes selection, vendor negotiations and maintenance. You'll coordinate communications to maximize the use of electronic content within the library system. You'll be responsible for selecting e-books and downloadable materials. You will work with the Selections and Acquisitions staff to develop policies and procedures for increasing our e-content collection in relation to our library's strategic plan. You will work closely with your colleagues in Technical Services to develop best practices and coordinate the management of electronic products. You will manage MCL's electronic journal subscriptions. If you like working with vendors and managing a budget, you will get the opportunity to do this as MCL's E-Content Librarian. You'll be responsible for evaluating and selecting the best vendor sources for new digital content. You will manage the e-content collections budget in consultation with the Director of Technical Services. Salary: $25.02 to $30.79 per hr

The Sonoma County Library is a Joint Powers Authority created in 1975 to serve the County's nearly 500,000 residents through 11 full-service locations throughout the county, two rural stations, and specialized collections such as the Wine Library and Genealogy and Local History collections. The Library is governed by an independent seven-member Library Commission in a community in which almost half the service population has a library card.
