[Libs-Or] Orbis Cascade Alliance communication with EBSCO and Ex Libris about data sharing

Hello Max,

Yes, I did see the page you provided. My guess is that similar to many
Oregon communities, the ethnic groups you mentioned are not represented
by large numbers of the population in Israel. I was just asking for
clarification as I did not see a correlation between your hash tags and
the link you provided. I honestly thought I missed part of a
conversation. As a librarian who lives and works on the Oregon Coast,
my perspective is that homogeneous systems are alive and well in the
library field. This is not something I am proud of but like the many of
my colleagues I am proud to be in a field which generally protects the
democratic rights of its communities and I would never fault my
organization, or any other, for its cultural makeup without first doing
a ton of research.

I believe when it comes down to it, at a fundamental level, many of us
share your sentiments, Max. For instance, the major focal point of my
work in public libraries is centered on information literacy instruction
(just saw your recent post) and constantly learning new ways to
sensitively address these needs for all members of my community. It is
unfortunate if my request for clarification led to any "attacks" as I
was only respectfully responding to a conversation.

Thanks for responding,

Paul
