The Library Support and Development Services division is responsible for working closely with Oregon libraries to improve library service for all Oregonians. Library Support and Development Services provides planning for statewide library development, consulting, continuing education services for local librarians, and administers all state and Federal library grant programs. Duties & Responsibilities: The person in this position will coordinate Answerland, Oregon's virtual reference service. This position trains librarians from 45 participating Oregon libraries, paraprofessionals and volunteers who all staff the Answerland service, providing references and answering questions from the public via chat, email, and text. This position also promotes Answerland and schedules librarians, paraprofessionals and volunteers who staff the service. Volunteers include library students, librarians and retired librarians. Currently there are approximately 40 volunteers.

The City of Reno is the county seat and the third largest city in Nevada. The Washoe County Library System has 12 branch locations and an e-Library. Operating under the parameters established for public libraries by the Nevada legislature and the federal Institute of Museums and Library Services, the Washoe County Library System is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Washoe County Commissioners. The Library Director is a management level position under the administrative direction of the Washoe County Library Board of Trustees. The Library System has 130 employees and a FY 2015-16 general-fund budget of approximately $8.2 million. A Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university is required. The chosen candidate must have five or more years of full-time professional library experience as a Director or Assistant Director of a large metropolitan or regional library system. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. The salary range for this position is $95,825 to $124,592, depending on qualifications and experience.
