[Libs-Or] DVD purchases

Perhaps it is just our library that is stuck with this situation.  We use a corporate account and every month there are items we have paid on the previous month that show up on the next (I am not talking about items that will be billed on the previous month according to the date of the invoices – that is straightforward). Every time we challenge this discrepancy the outsourcing bank that handles Amazon billing claims it is okay even though we are paying twice. (This bank also never sees the actual invoices - they are handled by a machine). So we often pay double on some invoices. Also, the amount we pay each month (total amount due on the bill) never matches the amount we mark off as paying for the invoices – we are typically overpaying at least $30-80 each month. These two items SHOULD match and we have never gotten a satisfactory explanation from Amazon. This is something I am not comfortable with as we are using public funds which is why we are decreasing the amount of spending we do with Amazon.  So, you may want to just double check those statements against what you actually pay. Like I said, maybe our library is the only one they are trying to rip off. J

Ah ha! It was the PO issue that was giving us headaches -- so great to know there's a way to get that PO inserted in there.

We don't really use PO numbers, but we use them as ways t reflect from which line item certain expenditures are taken. Amazon doesn't have an obvious place to insert a PO; you have to click like you're changing your payment method and only then can you insert one. Once we figured out that hurdle, though, it's not bad. Their monthly statements are pretty straightforward.

Cheers!

Maybe it's time to revisit; as far as I can recall, last time getting it set up with our finance department was so onerous that we just threw in the towel and went back to using the credit card. :)

I don’t find the corporate credit account problematic, either – I access invoices online, which is very simple. I don’t need to do anything with the credit statement other than give it a glance to make sure everything’s current. It took a little time on the phone to get the online access to invoices set up, but it’s been a breeze ever since.

Do you guys have a corporate credit account through Amazon? That's what we use, and it's not too terrible. I find reconciling credit card statements far more challenging than the monthly Amazon credit statement.

Cheers!

Hello-
We are in the process of switching to Ingram as our jobber.
Their monograph selection is fairly comprehensive but the DVD stock leaves much to be desired.
Question: Where can we find DVDs (contemporary, classic, foreign-language, and indie)...for cheap...with simplified payment procedures?
We are not opposed to purchasing excellent-condition-used or in bulk.
Amazon has an astonishing array of titles and amazing deals but we cannot abide their labyrinthine corporate billing system.
Our monthly DVD budget is modest so we would like to stretch the dollars as far as possible.
Where do you buy your movies and are you happy with the service?
Thanks in advance,
