Subject: [Heritage] Oregon Main Street to host regional revitalization "Meet-Ups"

A series of regional "meet-ups" to enable people interested in downtown revitalization to discuss topics specific to their communities will take place during July and August in Bandon, LaGrande, Cottage Grove and Newberg.
            "We really hope to stimulate a regional downtown dialogue," says Sheri Stuart, Oregon Main Street State Coordinator. "All people and groups interested in learning more about downtown revitalization are welcome to attend one of these Main Street "Meet-Ups."
The purpose of the regional network meetings are to:

  * Meet fellow community members working on downtown revitalization efforts in your area
  *   Encourage conversation between communities
  * Share information on project successes
  * Identify challenges and opportunities affecting local downtown revitalization efforts
  * Give feedback to Oregon Main Street on ways they can be of assistance to our communities.
            Bandon (July 21), La Grande (July 28), Cottage Grove (August 18), and Newberg (August 25) will be the host communities. The "Main Street Meet-ups" will be from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a downtown walking tour at 3 - 4 p.m. in each of the host communities. For more information, contact sheri.stuart at oregon.gov<mailto:sheri.stuart at oregon.gov>.
            Previously, statewide network meetings have been limited to participants in the Oregon Main Street Network. This is the first trial of regional "Meet-ups" open to all interested people and groups.
