There’s just a few weeks left to nominate individuals or groups for the
Melvil Dewey Medal award! See below for more details.

*Have you or do you know of an individual or group who has made an
**outstanding
professional achievement in library management, training, cataloging and
classification, or the tools and techniques of librarianship?*

The Melvil Dewey Medal is an annual award consisting of $2,000, a Dewey
Medal, and a 24k gold-framed citation to an individual or group for recent
creative leadership of high order, particularly in those fields in which
Melvil Dewey was actively interested: library management, library training,
cataloging and classification, and the tools and techniques of
librarianship. The 2015 award winner was Hwa-Wei Lee, former chief of the
Asian Division of the Library of Congress.

ALA is currently accepting nominations for the Melvil Dewey Medal award:
http://www.ala.org/awardsgrants/awards/44/apply.  The online application is
to be submitted to ALA by December 1, 2015.  For additional information,
