[Libs-Or] Help needed title adult (or teen) science fiction book

[HARMON-MYERS Margaret]

I am trying to track down an adult (or teen) science fiction book for a patron. He thinks it has "Saucer" in the title (as in "Flying") and is indeed about a crashed flying saucer that is discovered by a young man who manages to learn how to fly it.  (This is not Stephen Coonts's "Saucer" series.)
It is an earlier publication, perhaps between 1970 and 1990.  He remembers it as being very low tech but "thoroughly enjoyable".
