Hey guys,

Would one of you be willing to forward this to REFORMA and any other
relevant list? I'd appreciate it. I have no further info.

Thanks,

Jase

Dear colleagues,

My name Shinelle Polite. I am a graduate student in the School Library and
Information Sciences at the University of South Carolina and the Cooper
Davis Fellow. I am conducting a research study about the representation and
recruitment of librarians, and particularly librarians of color. You are
being asked to participate in this study because you have either completed
or are currently pursuing a master’s degree in library and information
science, and are an aspiring, current or were once an information
professional. This study is sponsored by the University of South Carolina
School of Library and Information Science.

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey about
your library and information science graduate experience. Participation is
voluntary and confidential. You are not required to answer any questions
you do not want to answer. The results of the study may be published or
presented at professional meetings, but your identity will not be revealed. The
survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board. I would be
happy to answer any questions you have about the study. You may contact me
at sedwin at email.sc.edu if you have study related questions or problems. If
you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, you may
contact the Office of Research Compliance at the University of South
Carolina at 803-777-7095.
