Greetings!
Please mark your calendars for the *Library as Open Education Leader spring
workshop*. The workshop will be May 4, 2016 from noon-4:30 at the Vancouver
Community Library <http://www.fvrl.org/loc/va> in its Columbia Room. Please
note that this event is the pre-conference day of the Assessment, Teaching,
& Learning conference
<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/programs-services/assessment-teaching-learning/atl-conference-materials.aspx>
in Vancouver. We will be discussing copyright basics and practicalities for
community college libraries, featuring some of the great work of LOEL
Collaboration grant projects, and highlighting the importance of framing
open education as a strategic tool for institutional mission fulfillment.
As the workshop is part of Washington’s LOEL <http://libraryasleader.org/>
project and grant, Washington State Community and Technical College
librarians are eligible for travel reimbursement - more details will
follow. Although they will not receive travel reimbursement, Oregon
librarians are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend!
Registration for this event begins in early April. More information will be
on its way soon!
Best,
Quill West, LOEL Grant Coordinator
Candice Watkins, Tacoma Community College
