Seems like the article is true. I contacted Steve to verify the
information. Our brief discussion follows:
You could indicate you have spoken to me and confirmed that the story
was true.
It's out now and getting a lot of interest from more mainstream media.

My apologies! I wanted to pass on your response to the ListServ but
given your desire to keep it under wraps I will not do so now.
Many of us are very proud of you for trying to do the right thing (both
for the individual in the article and discourse in public forums in
public libraries) and distraught over your injuries.
FYI - the following just came through on the ListServ. I believe you
will soon be inundated with inquiries. I wish you the best of luck!
ALA staff are gathering information according to Julie Todaro, ALA
President.

Good afternoon. It's accurate. We had been trying to keep it under the
radar in hopes that all parties would realize how absurd this is. But as
you can see it's starting to get out.

Steven,
Hello, my name is Matthew Baiocchi. I am a reference librarian at the
Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City, OR. An article has made the
rounds on a ListServ I subscribe to -
http://bordc.org/news/library-worker-heroically-defends-patrons-free-speech-brutally-arrested-library-works/
- and I was wondering if the article is legitimate? I could find no
other source for the incident.
Might you be willing to confirm or deny the article?
Thank you very much for your time.

This is from another discussion list. Also ALA staff are gathering
information according to Julie Todaro, ALA President. I'm sure when
they have more information that will be posted.

I posted this story on my facebook page today, and there has been much
discussion about how much veracity to give the story. The event occurred
in May, and is just being reported now. It appears in no other news
sources, and the site in question only gives us quotes from Woolfolk.
Supporting evidence we have found:
A tweet from Rothe-Kushel:

In the regional newspaper Tquestion asserted that the United States and Israel have used terrorism
for their own purposes and that, among other things, Israel was involved
in the Sept. 11 attacks. Ross said flatly that's not true, but the man
persisted. This reporter was in the back of the room, unable to see the
confrontation, but at one point the man told someone else to “take your
hands off me.” The man and others apparently moved to the hallway, where
more shouting was heard. Police took two people into custody.'

I attempted to search Missouri court documents with several name
combinations and was unable to find anything that indicates a current
case against either person. That doesn't mean they don't exist. I may
not be using the tool correctly, or it may not cover open cases:
