” the 2017 annual PNLA conference is now open! Prepare to be soothed and
delighted at the Templin’s Red Lion River Resort
<https://www.redlion.com/templins>on the Spokane River, just across the
border from Spokane, Washington and a mere 10 miles from beautiful Lake
Coeur d’Alene. North Idaho and Eastern Washington feature spectacular
sightseeing, fabulous restaurants, and amazing recreational opportunities
making the 2017 PNLA conference a family destination event.
Featured Speakers for the conference include:
*Lisa Napoli*: When Lisa Napoli isn't covering the vast arts and cultural
scene in southern California for KCRW, she's working on a new book. Her
latest is Ray & Joan: The Man Who Made the McDonald's Fortune and the Woman
Who Gave It All Away

adults, including his most recent novel *Last Day on Mars*. His books have
been published in ten different countries, and you could say that he's big
in the Czech Republic. Formerly a science teacher, Kevin has taught
creative writing to children and teens with Seattle Arts & Lectures'
Writers in the Schools program, and Richard Hugo House. His is also a
drummer and singer, most recently with his bands Northern Allies and Math
and Physics Club. He has won a spelling bee, lost a beauty pageant
(probably because he was wearing a suit of armor), and once appeared in a
Swedish TV commercial.
Check the conference website (www.pnla.org) for early-bird registration
rates and for full descriptions of all the sessions. August in Post Falls
is always gorgeous, so don’t forget to get your ticket for “Corks and
Cans”—this year it’s a full BBQ on the beach with live music. Don’t miss it!
