Subject: Looking for a temporary librarian

Hi Ms. Parise:

Thank you for talking with me by phone last week. We appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

We are looking for a temporary librarian, to help us through a period of time while we are recruiting and staffing. While I originally said full-time, M-F, 8-5, I think we may be able to get by with a part-time person. So we're thinking now maybe 8 am to 2 pm, M-F for 1 to 2 months, though we may be able to adjust that to suit individual needs. The position would be with the State of Oregon Law Library, at the Supreme Court Building, 1163 State Street, Salem, OR 97301.

The duties are as follows:
1. Staff the circulation desk, checking out materials and managing library accounts through the library’s ILS (EOS).

2. Provide reference assistance under the direction of the reference librarian.

3. Shelve and retrieve library materials in the main library and attic storage. This includes working over irregular surfaces, climbing narrow stairs, and lifting moderate weights.

4. File loose leaf and pocket part updates to library volumes.

5. Assist Library analyst with materials intake and copy cataloging.

6. Other duties as assigned.
I am sure there are other questions or points that I have omitted. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you for your help!
