[Libs-Or] Random Drug Screening

Yet another district chiming in to say 'Read what Buzzy sent, then have your
board chair call pre-loss legal at SDAO.' They'll mostly likely do the job
of talking the board out of it for you.

I already sent this to Kathy, but I also wanted to remind other people about
this court case from several years ago that pertained directly to
drug-testing of library employees. It deals with pre-employment drug
screening, but some of its findings may have wider implications.

I was going to say the same thing. Views and the legal landscape on all drug
screening has changed over the years.

I would consult SDAO about this. Personally, I wouldn't want a policy like
this unless you have people performing tasks that could put others at risk
(driving, operating equipment, etc.)

Are they wanting a policy because they think there is a problem?

Hi Public Librarians,

My board is considering a random drug screening policy. Can you reply and
let me know if you have a policy for this? And if so who is included?
