Hi Susana,
Great suggestions so far. I wanted to let you know that the State Library's Library and Information Science Collection<https://www.oregon.gov/Library/libraries/Pages/LIS-Collection.aspx> has several books about storytime that you are welcome to borrow. These are some examples:
* Crash Course in Storytime Fundamentals<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:972293/ada?qu=storytime&rt=false%7C%7C%7CTITLE%7C%7C%7CTitle>
* Supercharged Storytimes: An Early Literacy Planning and Assessment Guide<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:1314594/ada?qu=Children%27s+libraries+--+Activity+programs+--+United+States.>
* Stories, Songs, and Stretches! : Creating Playful Storytimes with Yoga and Movement<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:1398850/ada?qu=Children%27s+libraries+--+Activity+programs+--+United+States.>
* 200+ Original and Adapted Story Program Activities<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:1479951/ada?qu=Children%27s+libraries+--+Activity+programs+--+United+States.>
* Read, Rhyme, and Romp: Early Literacy Skills and Activities for Librarians, Teachers, and Parents<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:952618/ada?qu=story+time&rt=false%7C%7C%7CTITLE%7C%7C%7CTitle> (written by Oregon's own Heather McNeil)
To find more, search the State Library's catalog<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic>. One idea is to search for the subject heading called Children's libraries - Activity programs - United States<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/results?qu=Children%27s+libraries&qu=--&qu=Activity+programs&qu=--&qu=United+States.&te=&rt=false%7C%7C%7CSUBJECT%7C%7C%7CSubject>, and another option is to do a title search for storytime<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/results?qu=storytime&te=&rt=false%7C%7C%7CTITLE%7C%7C%7CTitle> or storytimes<https://ccrls.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/oslpublic/search/results?qu=storytimes&te=&rt=false%7C%7C%7CTITLE%7C%7C%7CTitle>.
Also, the Idaho Commission for Libraries provides free online learning modules about library fundamentals. One arm is called Library Learning Online<https://libraries.idaho.gov/continuing-education/library-learning-online/>, and you may find the programming sections in their youth services sequence helpful. The other arm is called ABLE<https://libraries.idaho.gov/continuing-education/able/>.
Thanks,
Jen

Hello Susana,
When I was first taking on story time I didn't have a lot of in-person training access, but found this website very helpful: http://storytimeunderground.org/index.html
It hasn't updated in a couple years, but the "Ask a Storytime Ninja" archives are a great place to read about some common concerns. Likewise, "Hack My Storytime" can be good reading to look at different story time formats and ideas on how to improve them.
Good luck, and have fun!
Best wishes,

There is a Webjunction course called Supercharged Storytimes that I have found very helpful.

Subject: [Libs-Or] Story Time Training?
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows of story time training I can attend? I am at the Umatilla Public Library. I am hoping to take over story time starting July 1st and I would love to be able to attend training and get some ideas on how to structure story times. Thanks in advance! :)
Thank you,
Susana Sotelo
