Are you a library manager who wants to learn more and talk about race and librarianship? Join a four-week free online course, "Antiracism and Libraries," based on Ibram X. Kendi's recent book How to be an Antiracist. The course focuses on discussion around the book and scenarios set in the day to day work of libraries, and is open to library employees who have supervisory responsibilities in the Pacific Northwest. People from any type of library with any level of familiarity around the topic are welcome! Enrollment is limited to 60 people total (three concurrent classes of no more than 20). To participate, please send a 500 word or less statement of interest to Samantha Hines (Samantha.hines at email.myunion.edu<mailto:Samantha.hines at email.myunion.edu>) with:

* Your name and contact info (email and phone)

* A brief description of your supervisory responsibilities including where you work and how long you've been in the role

* Why you're interested in taking the course

Applications are due by August 15! The course will begin on September 1, 2020. Please send any questions to Samantha.hines at email.myunion.edu<mailto:Samantha.hines at email.myunion.edu>, and thanks!
