Springfield Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, passionate, and self-motivated individual to serve as our Outreach Specialist for an exciting grant-funded project. Under the direction of the Associate Manager, the Outreach Specialist will put into action outreach services to promote library services through the implementation of the grant funded "Get On Board" program. The coordinator will establish relationships with Title 1 schools, Head Start Preschools, community housing, and other organizations to create and sustain avenues for at-risk families to overcome barriers and gain access to public library services. The specialist will work with schools and community organizations to help identify families who could most benefit from assistance and the most effective means to provide this assistance, i.e. transportation vouchers, internet access, or other needs.  This position is limited duration for 10 months at 24 hours/week.
