Free to Oregon library staff, volunteers, board members, etc.:

June 8, 10:00-10:30a PT - Adult Book Club Support with Gale OneFile Resources<https://cengage.zoom.us/webinar/register/3516178054040/WN_EVEw2H80SAi5ILwEAN7mew>
Book clubs promote a love of literature and critical thinking; why not help jump start discussion with in-depth literary criticism, author interviews, and more from your Gale OneFile resources? In this webinar, we'll explore finding engaging content in two Gale periodical resources-- Gale General OneFile and Gale Academic OneFile. You'll learn how you can share this content with adult book club members to help strengthen discussion and gain new perspectives on book club selections.

June 9, 12:00p PT - Windows 10 - Customizing to Increase Your Productivity (Tech-Talk)
You may have been working in Windows 10 for a while now but haven't taken the time to learn how you can customize features to organize your desktop and increase your productivity. In this webinar we'll look at: The Jump List & Pinning; The Start Menu - Organize your apps; Windows Updates - Get notified before auto-rebooting; Show Desktop button, Task View, Alt + Tab; Personalization - dark or light mode and custom colors; How to View File Extensions; Clipboard History (Windows + V); and Using Speech recognition (Ctrl + H). Engage kids with fun, educational science experiments this summer! In this 15 minute session, designed for librarians, educators and parents, we'll explore how to find hundreds of science experiments to support summer learning within Gale In Context: Science and Gale In Context: Middle School. (Note Oregon contract does not include Gale In Context: Science)

June 16, 3:00p PT - DEI Subject Headings Repository (OLA TSRT)
Please join us for an initial conversation/kick off brainstorming session on the creation of a repository of subject headings and terms to use in replacement of insensitive terms from LCSH. This came out of one of the OLA TSRT sponsored sessions titled "What's in a name?" where we looked at ways to include more inclusive language within our catalogs. The next step to this conversation was a way to share a running list (or repository) of terms libraries across Oregon have identified to change, as well as the replacement terms identified. This meeting will be an initial brainstorming session on how exactly to do this work, what collaborations might be available to us in creating this tool, and how/where to host something like this, how to keep it updated, etc. No need to register, just click this link to join: https://zoom.us/j/96629366920?pwd=V2lHL28zdEc5M1YyclVublRJZ2t1Zz09

June 23, 12:00p PT - Very Simple Formulas to Make Spreadsheet Calculations Easier
BASIC LEVEL for Beginners in Excel & G-Sheets. If you've ever wanted to use spreadsheets to calculate for you, and don't have a clue of how to start, this session is for you. Learn how to add, subtract, multiple and divide using simple formulas so that adding data automatically updates your results. Discover how to track, copy and verify the accuracy of your calculating cells. Use various formatting to display your data effectively. Visit https://www.tech-talk.com/webinars to register, use the username and password near the top of each Tech-Talk newsletter.

June 24, 11:00a PT - Fights: How to prevent and stop them (safely!) (Ryan Dowd)
Topics to be covered: the four stages of a fight (and why "Stage 2" is the best place to stop it); how two staff (or one staff) should break up a fight; and what the research says about bystanders and fights. A recording (with closed captioning) will be available in Oregon's Niche Academy a few days after the live event; Oregon staff, volunteers, etc., can attend for free by signing up for the registration announcement list here<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Reg4HomlessnessTraining>.
