Leadership Development Scholarships Available

The Oregon Library Association (OLA) Leadership Committee is offering
Leadership Scholarships of up to $1,000. You do not need to be a manager,
or aspire to a management position, to qualify for a scholarship. All
members of OLA, regardless of position or employment, are eligible to apply
for the scholarship which is intended to support leadership development and
contribute to the growth of leadership potential within OLA and libraries
statewide.

Three scholarships are awarded annually and a scholarship can be awarded to
an individual only once per OLA fiscal year (September 1-August
30). Priority for at least one scholarship will also be given to
individuals from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds and/or historically
marginalized groups. In the past, recipients have used the scholarship to
attend conferences, various training opportunities and The Leadership
Institute of the Oregon Library Association (LIOLA).

Scholarship winners agree to provide service to OLA as a component of
receiving a scholarship. A recipient may assume a leadership role by
participating in a task force, round table, committee, or division; assist
with Annual, Support Staff Division (SSD) <https://www.olaweb.org/ssd-home>
or Oregon Association of School Libraries (OASL)
<https://www.olaweb.org/oasl-home> conference planning, or take ownership
of an OLA Project.
