Greetings library community! Passing this along for those considering applying for the Mini Grants for Libraries from the Oregon Humanities:



Complete your grant application with help from Oregon Humanities Staff

Mini Grant for Libraries "Complete an application together" session this Thursday, January 8 at 12:00p (noon).

Oregon Humanities offers many types of support to help grant applicants write their strongest application. We are hosting an online information session this Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. PT. Grants program staff members will be available to help applicants complete an application in real time.

Mini Grant for Libraries applications are due Friday, January 16, by 5:00 pm PT

Applications are currently open<https://www.tfaforms.com/5195145> for our Mini Grants for Libraries<https://www.oregonhumanities.org/programs/grants/mini-grant-libraries/>. All applications are due next Friday, January 16, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. PT.

Oregon Humanities is awarding up to $25,000 in funding to enable Oregon libraries to create and host events in their own communities. The maximum award per organization is $3,000. Awards can fund one event or multiple events.

Events should reflect our 2026 theme: Beyond 250, which marks the 250th anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Independence. Applicants are welcome to interpret this theme and develop topics that are relevant to their communities. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, explorations of:

·        How do we think about and experience equality, freedom, independence, tyranny, justice, union, and other ideas central to the Declaration and to our nation’s understanding of itself?

·        How has the Declaration shaped the country we live in today, and how might we shape its future?

·        What characterized the period of time before the previous 250 years, and how can reflecting on a community's history inform the future?

Public, volunteer, community college, and tribal libraries and library branches located in Oregon are all eligible. Applications are limited to one application per entity (based on UEI) per annual grant cycle.
