[Libs-Or] Question about breaks in single-staffed libraries

Hi all!

At TCL, we have five locations that are staffed by just one person at least some of the time. We are currently looking at best practices for making sure staff get their breaks if they happen to be working at a location alone. Currently we close for lunch, but not for 15-minute breaks.

I would love to hear how other libraries are handling breaks when there is only one person working. Do you close the location? Put a sign on the front desk? Offer a stipend for library staff who work alone, to compensate for the fact that they may not get a break? Another solution?

Thanks in advance,
Jenn
