In case you missed it:

A video recording for October's webinar, Introduction to the Digital Public Library of America's Metadata Application Profile, is now freely available online: https://vimeo.com/188696798

The October 19, 2016 training was provided by Gretchen Gueguen, Data Services Manager from the DPLA. Staff from public, academic, and special libraries throughout Washington and Oregon attended the live session which was offered as part of the joint efforts of the Washington State Library, the Oregon State Library, and the Orbis Cascade Alliance to facilitate a coordinated approach to digital collections in the Northwest.

With funding from the Oregon State Library's LSTA program through June 2017, the Orbis Cascade Alliance is implementing its Dublin Core metadata standards and developing tools for metadata cleanup, training, and support that will be publicly available. For more information, see https://www.orbiscascade.org/digital-collections/.

The Washington State Library recently awarded several LSTA-funded grants to libraries for metadata enhancement and remediation activities. See 2016-2017 awards here: https://www.sos.wa.gov/_assets/library/libraries/grants/2016_MER_Awards.pdf. Additional grants will be available to Washington libraries in Spring-Summer, 2017.
