The Oregonian ran a guest opinion piece in the Sunday paper by an untenured
professor who has been the subject of protests by Reed students of the core
humanities courses: Nuance in speech is not oppression

This weekend I had the opportunity to meet a Reed freshman, an
international student from China, who was quite surprised by the protests
and frustrated because students are still required to write papers even
when lectures are canceled. It would be interesting to hear the
perspectives of the student protesters also. According to the student I
met, the curriculum will be changing next year.

Cheers,
Roberta
