We'll have asynchronous and live discussions on various intellectual freedom topics where members can ask questions, pose alternative views, and offer their experiences. You will also work with some of the best people. Read through the rundown of each committee. Fill out the volunteer form before June 1, 2020 to be considered for an appointment by chair-elect, Wanda Huffaker.

An Historical and Future Perspective of IFRT

I’ve been contemplating being involved in ALA this year as we are concerned with the effects Covid-19 has had on all of us. Not the least of which is the cancellation of ALA Annual 2020. This is in the midst of organizational revisions that are yet to be finalized or accepted. Our libraries are closed, many of us have worked from home, the tasks have changed, some worry about their jobs. Working on an ALA committee may seem like such a superfluous task to add to life right now, in the scheme of things.
