Hi Summer Reading Key Contacts,

Attached is the most recent newsletter from the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). Usually I don’t share the newsletter with everyone because the information doesn’t have direct application for libraries. However, this newsletter has a lot of important information I thought you might want to read for yourselves.

Here are some of the most important things for you to know:

*         Kwame Alexander is the 2017 National Summer Reading Champion

*         Some of the Rules of Use<http://www.cslpreads.org/membership-sponsorship-2/rules-of-use/#custom> for the summer reading artwork have changed:

o   It is permitted to post activities pages and resources lists from the 2017 summer reading manual on your website and/or social media pages until October 1, 2017-attribution must be give as, “Image copyrighted by CSLP” or “Idea curated from CSLP manual.”

o   Use of the slogan Build A Better World must include TM after is as such:  Build A Better WorldTM

o   Exclusive vendor has the right of first refusal for all paper and non‐paper custom orders that use CSLP art. Intent to custom order paper products with CSLP art must be communicated to exclusive vendor in reasonable manner.

        *   Paper promotional items specific to your organization can be printed in house or by a local printer regardless of size/shape/format. (e.g. flyers)
        *   All other custom paper orders must be sent to exclusive vendor for right of first refusal and, if refused by exclusive vendor, may be printed in house by the CSLP member or by a local printer.
        *   Members must request a copyright release to use CSLP art for a custom non‐paper order refused by the exclusive vendor for a product not available in the CSLP catalog.
        *   Customized product proposal can be found at: www.cslpreads.org<http://www.cslpreads.org/>.

All Oregon public, volunteer, and tribal libraries are members of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), and receive a free summer reading manual.  To get the most out of your membership, create an account on the CSLP website (http://www.cslpreads.org/) and you will be able to access additional summer reading resources. CSLP membership dues and manual fees are paid for by the State Library with Library Services and Technology Act funds. Summer reading manuals are distributed by OLA’s Children’s Services Division summer reading chair, summer reading feedback and suggestions are collected by OLA’s Young Adult Network CSLP Liaison, and all three of us listed below represent you on CSLP committees and at the CSLP annual meeting.
