Marine Board Meeting in Florence on October 22-23

              The Oregon State Marine Board will be meeting on October 22 - 23 in Florence for a workshop session and general Board meeting.
>From 12 pm to 3 pm on October 22, the Board will take a tour of Salmon Harbor's recently completed boating facility makeover in Douglas County and Ten Mile Lakes new boat wash station, located in Coos County.  The Board will reconvene at 3:30 pm at the River House Inn, 1202 Bay Street in Florence, for a strategic plan update from Marine Board staff.
Beginning at 9 am on October 23, the Board will hold their quarterly meeting at the same location, to discuss and potentially take action on the following items:

*       Consider initiating rulemaking to define the process of "cooperation" between the Marine Board and the Oregon Department of Aviation related to regulation of seaplanes when operating as boats;


*       Consider initiating rulemaking to repeal Chapter 250, Division 19;


*       Consider initiating rulemaking to amend Chapter 250, Division 001 to consolidate notification rules and define procedures previously identified in Division 19;


*       Consider rule adoption to remove rule language on certain waters in Lane County and Scenic Waterways -OAR 250-020-0221 and OAR 250-030-0030 which prohibits the use of combustion motor boats and the operation of sea planes on Waldo Lake in compliance with the 2013 Oregon Legislative Session statutory revisions;


*       Consider rule adoption of Marine Facility Program Rules -definitions, eligibility, vessel waste collection and the Boating Infrastructure Grant Program.   Clarifies authority of the Marine Board to apply for federal Boating Infrastructure Grants and allows federal agencies to apply for Boating Facility Grants in compliance with the 2013 Oregon Legislative Session statutory revisions;



*       Consider approval of a grant request to the City of Reedsport -Property acquisition;


*       Consider approval of a grant request to replace the pumpout/dump station at Donaldson's Marina on the Columbia River in Portland, and;


*       Agency program reports.
