Marine Board Meeting Scheduled For January 9 at the Expo Center

The Oregon State Marine Board will hold their quarterly Board meeting from 9 am to 4 pm at the Portland Expo Center, Room D 204, on January 9 in conjunction with the 54th Annual Portland Boat Show.
The Board will receive a briefing on the status of the Willamette Park Ramp Dredging project - FG # 1490 and may decide to retract or reaffirm grant funds.
The Board will also consider multiple rule items:
Rule Repeal

  *   Procedures for adopting, amending and repealing local and special rules, Chapter 250, Division 19;
Rule Adoption

  *   Consider Procedural Rules in Chapter 250, Division 001;
  *   Consider Boat Operations on the Willamette River in Clackamas County 250-020-0032 and Boat Operations in Yamhill and Marion Counties 250-020-0385 that would move the slow -no wake and wake-enhancing device exclusion zone from the  Hwy 219 Bridge to Champoeg Park;
  *   Amend Chapter 250, Division 015, Ocean Charter Vessels, to update definitions, eliminate statutory language redundancy, establish regulations for chart boats operating on sole state waters, and establish consistency with the U.S. Coast Guard license requirements to comply with the 2013 Oregon Legislative Session, Senate Bill 25;

*       Amend Chapter 250, Division 016, Outfitters and Guides, to establish a new process of Guide Advisory Committee membership appointment and maintain reciprocal operations on the Columbia River with Washington State in compliance with the 2013 Oregon Legislative Session, House Bill 2039.
Initiate Rulemaking

  *   Consider initiating rulemaking to revise buoy standards of symbol marker language in Chapter 250, Division 010 Uniform Waterway Marking, and initiate new rules for the public to submit application requests to place private buoys in waters of the state;
  *   Consider a citizen petition to initiate rulemaking for Boat Operations in Jackson County 250-020-0151 to remove the 10 mph speed restriction on Applegate Reservoir;
  *   Consider initiating rulemaking to revise statewide rules Definitions 250-010-0010 and amend identified local rules with reference to "slow -no wake, maximum 5 MPH."
