Marine Board Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Rulemakings for Charter Vessels and Outfitters/Guides

The Oregon State Marine Board will be holding public hearings on proposed rulemaking.
Two public hearings will be held on proposed changes to the charter vessel license rules and the outfitter/guide rules. The proposed charter vessel license rules will align with US Coast Guard's requirements. The proposed outfitter/guide rules will adopt new guidelines for membership on the Guide Advisory Committee and retain reciprocal operations on the Columbia River. These proposed changes are needed to implement laws passed during the 2013 Legislative Session. The first public hearing will be held on Monday, January 6 at 4:00 PM at the South Beach Marina RV Building, 2120 SE Marine Science Drive in Newport. A second hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 4:00 pm at the State Marine Board Office, 435 Commercial St NE, Salem. Public testimony will be accepted.
