*Please excuse cross-posts/duplication. *

Hi all,

The Unpacking Team is excited to announce its Fall 2023 series which will
focus on being an ally and being an accomplice. What does this mean? How
does it impact our work? What can we do to move beyond allyship within our
work, both inward and outward-facing? There's no required reading or
homework. Just show up (virtually) ready to hear and be heard. Sessions are
the first Thursday of August, September, October, and November from 7:30 to
about 9:00 p.m.

If you are already signed up for our email list, you should have a Google
Calendar invite for this season with the Zoom information. If you aren't
already signed up, no worries! Sign up here
<https://unpackingdiscussion.weebly.com/about--contact.html>. (If you ever
need to be removed from the email list, just let us know.)

We're looking to bring more participants into our discussions and recognize
that putting yourself in this thoughtful and uncomfortable situation takes
time, energy, and intention. For perspective, the entire year is 12 hours
of discussion. 1.5 hours per month for 4 months, twice a year. Even if you
cannot make it to every conversation or stay for the full 90 minutes, this
time helps us all so much. Maybe this season is the one for you!

Let us know what questions you have and we'll see you all very soon.

Our best,

*The Unpacking Team*

*Unpacking <https://unpackingdiscussion.weebly.com/>*is a discussion-based
forum created to provide a space in which white and white-identifying
individuals can examine the realities of their white privilege. Through
conversation, we explore how to actively dismantle systems which oppress
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and from which all white and
white-identifying individuals benefit. *Unpacking* is designed for the
communal education of white and white-identifying individuals, but welcomes
all people who would like to contribute to or engage in this work.
Additionally, though *Unpacking *is rooted in conversations about race, we
welcome a broad range of topics which can help libraries and museums to
become more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible.
