[PL-Directors] State Library Now Accepting Letters of Interest for Edge Initiative Participation in 2014

Greetings!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the conference last week - I hope you had a fabulous time!

In case you missed the announcement in the monthly Letters to Libraries Online newsletter, the Oregon State Library is looking for a few good public libraries to participate in the preview phase of the Edge Initiative.

[EdgeLogo]The Oregon State Library has fifteen openings for public libraries to participate in the next phase of the national launch of the Edge Initiative<http://www.libraryedge.org/about-edge>. Public libraries may submit a letter of interest via email to Darci Hanning<mailto:darci.hanning at state.or.us> by the May 10th (extended from the original April 30th deadline). The Edge Toolkit<http://www.libraryedge.org/toolkit> has been designed to assist public libraries in meeting their individual demands and challenges of providing technology and technology services in alignment with community priorities and to plan for future technology needs.

The next 12 libraries to submit a letter of interest will be eligible to participate in the next round of assessments, training, and planning resources for free throughout 2014. Participating libraries will be expected to register online in May and complete the 2-4 hour technology assessment for their library (including any branches) by July 31st.
